Master the Rules of Recitation: A Structured Path to Accurate Tajweed & Qirat
For those who recite but know something is not quite right. You listen to skilled reciters and hear precision you cannot yet produce. This course builds the technical foundation to correct that gap, moving you from reading to reciting with intentional, rule-based accuracy. Delivered online with live instructor correction, this is a structured progression through the science of Tajweed and the fundamentals of Qirat, designed for focused learning from home.
What You’ll Master in Tajweed & Qirat
Tajweed is not an optional ornament; it is the set of linguistic and phonetic rules that govern how the Qur’an is pronounced as it was revealed. Qirat refers to the established methods of recitation transmitted through unbroken chains. This course combines both.
You will not sit through lectures about theory. Each session is practice-based. Your instructor shares their screen with clear Arabic text. You read. They listen to your articulation points (Makharij), your vowel lengths (Madd), and your nasal sounds (Ghunnah). They stop you. They correct you. You repeat until the sound is accurate.
This course is for:
-
Adults who completed Noorani Qaida years ago but never learned Tajweed formally
-
Parents who want to recite correctly to teach their own children
-
Teenagers preparing to move into Hifz or advanced recitation programs
-
Women learning from home who prefer structured, one-on-one attention
This is not a quick fix. It is a systematic retraining of how you pronounce Arabic letters and apply rules in your recitation.
The Real Impact of Learning Tajweed & Qirat
Most people who recite the Qur’an make consistent, repeated errors without realizing it. The most common mistakes in Tajweed fall into three categories:
Makharij errors: Letters are pronounced from the wrong place in the mouth or throat. A ‘Ha’ (ح) sounds like a ‘Haa’ (ه). A ‘Sad’ (ص) loses its heavy quality. These errors change the letter entirely, and changing a letter in Qur’anic recitation alters meaning.
Madd mistakes: Vowel stretches are either cut short or drawn out arbitrarily. A natural Madd (two counts) becomes four. A necessary Madd (four to six counts) becomes two. The rhythm of the recitation breaks, and the structural integrity of the verse weakens.
Ghunnah neglect: Nasal sounds are either fully omitted or over-pronounced without proper timing. The richness of the recitation flattens.
Without correction, these mistakes become habits. A student can recite the same verse for years, reinforcing errors with every repetition. A teacher who only listens without pinpointing articulation points perpetuates the problem.
This course fixes the root cause. You will not simply be told “that was wrong.” You will be shown where the sound originates, how to adjust your tongue or throat placement, and given targeted drills to rebuild the muscle memory. Each correction is precise and rule-based, not subjective.
What You'll Learn in This Course (Complete Curriculum)
This course is structured in four progressive stages. You do not move to the next stage until your instructor confirms mastery of the current one.
Module 1: Articulation Points (Makharij) and Letter Characteristics (Sifaat)
What is taught: A systematic map of the 17 articulation points in the mouth, throat, and nasal passage. You learn exactly where each letter exits—whether from the deepest throat (Hamzah, Haa), the middle throat (Ayn, Haa), the tongue tip (Noon, Raa), or the lips (Baa, Meem, Waw). You also learn the intrinsic qualities of each letter: which letters have isti’laa (elevation, creating heaviness) and which have tafkheem (emphasis) or tarqeeq (softness).
What you will be able to do after: Pronounce every Arabic letter at its correct articulation point with its full set of qualities. You will distinguish between letters that non-Arabic speakers commonly confuse, such as س and ص, or ح and ه. Your foundation becomes sound enough to support advanced rules.
Module 2: Rules of Noon Saakinah, Tanween, and Meem Saakinah
What is taught: You learn the four rules for when a Noon with sukoon or a Tanween appears: Izhaar (clear pronunciation), Idghaam (merging into the next letter), Iqlab (changing to a Meem), and Ikhfaa (hiding with nasalization). For Meem Saakinah, you learn Izhaar Shafawi, Idghaam Shafawi, and Ikhfaa Shafawi. Each rule is practiced with example verses until application becomes automatic.
What you will be able to do after: When you encounter any Noon Saakinah, Tanween, or Meem Saakinah in the Mushaf, you will apply the correct rule without pausing to recall it. Your recitation becomes fluid because you are no longer hesitating at these common junctions.
Module 3: Madd Rules (Vowel Lengthening)
What is taught: You learn the distinction between Madd Asli (natural, two-count elongation) and Madd Far’ee (secondary elongation caused by a hamzah or sukoon). You practice Madd Muttasil (connected), Madd Munfasil (separated), Madd Lazim (necessary, four to six counts), and Madd Aridh (temporary, two to four counts). Your instructor trains you to identify the cause of elongation in each verse and apply the correct count consistently.
What you will be able to do after: You will no longer guess how long to stretch a vowel. Every Madd in your recitation will have a defined duration based on clear rules. Your rhythm will match the established methods of recitation.
Module 4: Qirat Foundations and Application
What is taught: You are introduced to the concept of Qirat as distinct, transmitted methods of recitation. You learn the key differences in vowel lengths, pronunciation variations, and stopping rules between two foundational Qirat (such as Hafs ‘an Asim, the most widely used, and Warsh ‘an Nafi). Your instructor guides you through applying these variations in selected surahs.
What you will be able to do after: You understand that Qirat is not personal preference but a science with chains of transmission. You can recite in Hafs ‘an Asim with precision and are equipped to learn additional Qirat if you choose. Your recitation is now grounded in transmitted methodology, not mere habit.

Why Choose Al-Huda Digital Solutions
Teaching methodology: You learn through live correction, not passive watching. Your instructor listens to your recitation in real time, stops you at the exact point of error, and explains the rule before having you repeat. The platform is built for practice, not theory.
Structured progression: You do not advance by time. You advance by mastery. Each student has a clear progression path: complete Makharij before moving to Noon rules, master Noon rules before Madd, and so on. Your instructor documents your progress, so you always know what you have mastered and what remains.
Purpose-driven affordability: This course is priced to sustain itself while funding access for students who cannot pay. When you enroll, your fee directly supports a woman or child in the program who would otherwise not have access to structured Tajweed education.
Accessibility for women and families: All instructors are trained to work with women and children in a respectful, focused online environment. You learn from home with flexible scheduling. Female instructors are available for women who prefer that option.
Real impact model: Al Huda Digital Solutions operates on a sustainable education model. Paid students receive the same structured, high-correction instruction as sponsored students. There is no tiered quality. The model ensures that access is not determined by financial ability.
What a Class Actually Looks Like
A typical class feels calm, focused, and surprisingly engaging. You start by revisiting what you learned, then move into new recitation while the teacher guides you closely, correcting small mistakes on the spot. There’s a steady rhythm, listen, repeat, improve, so you actually feel your progress as you go. It’s interactive, not passive, and by the end of the session you leave with clearer pronunciation, more confidence, and a sense that you’re getting it right.
Class Structure:
-
Revision (5 minutes): You recite the previous lesson’s verses or rules. Your instructor identifies any regression or lingering errors before new material begins.
-
New Lesson (15–20 minutes): Your instructor presents new rules or verses, demonstrates correct pronunciation, and guides you through initial practice. You repeat each section multiple times with immediate correction.
-
Correction Loop (5–10 minutes): You recite the new material independently. Your instructor stops at each error, explains the rule, and has you repeat until accurate. This is not a one-time demonstration; it is repeated practice under supervision.
-
Homework Assignment (5 minutes): Your instructor assigns specific verses or rules to practice before the next session. The assignment is always targeted to the areas that needed correction during the session.
Teaching Method:
All instruction happens through screen sharing with clear, large Arabic text. Your instructor points to each word as you recite. You are muted when listening, unmuted when reciting. This eliminates background noise and keeps focus on your voice.
Correction is specific: “Your ‘Raa’ here is heavy. This Raa has a fatha, so it must have tafkheem. Open the back of your tongue more. Try again.”
After the session, you receive a brief summary of the corrections made and the verses to practice.

Our Frequently Asked Questions section is designed to give you clear and simple answers about learning the Quran, Islamic studies, and online education. Many students and parents ask about our courses, teaching methods, fees, and how to get started.
Here you’ll find short, easy-to-read answers to common questions, whether you're a parent looking for Quran classes for your child, an adult beginner wanting to learn Tajweed, or someone interested in Islamic studies.
Yes. This course assumes you can read Arabic text at a basic level. You do not need to repeat Qaida. Your instructor will assess your current articulation during the first session and begin from the appropriate stage.
Completion depends on your current level and practice consistency. Most students require six to nine months of weekly sessions to move through all four modules with mastery. Students who practice daily progress faster. This course does not rush you through modules to meet a timeline.
Yes. We have both male and female qualified instructors. You can specify your preference during registration, and we will assign accordingly.
You need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera (laptop or tablet preferred), and headphones with a microphone. The camera is used so your instructor can observe your mouth movements for articulation correction.
You will be able to recite any portion of the Qur’an applying all major Tajweed rules correctly. Your articulation points, Madd lengths, and nasal sounds will be rule-based, not guessed. You will also understand the foundational differences between Qirat methods. Mastery of recitation is a lifelong refinement, but this course establishes a correct, corrected foundation that you can build upon.
A general reading course focuses on fluency—being able to move through the text without stopping. This course focuses on precision—every letter, every rule, every elongation applied according to the science of Tajweed and Qirat. You will learn slower but with far greater accuracy.
